About MarketWrench
Options, explained. Free tools and plain-English guides for learning how options strategies work.
What we do
MarketWrench offers free options calculators and strategy guides that break down how common trades like covered calls, cash-secured puts, and spreads work, including their payoff, breakeven, and risks.
Video explainers
Each strategy also gets a walkthrough video on our YouTube channel, with worked examples and a link to the matching calculator.
Who writes MarketWrench and how
MarketWrench is written and maintained by a small independent team focused on options education for beginners. We are not a broker, and we do not sell trade signals, courses or advisory services.
- Original examples. Every worked example uses hypothetical numbers that we calculate ourselves with the same Black-Scholes model that powers our calculators (typically a 4% interest rate and no dividends, stated on the page).
- Checked against the math. Max profit, max loss and breakeven figures are checked against the payoff formulas and the interactive charts before publishing.
- Plain English first. Each page defines its terms and links to the glossary. Simplifications are labeled.
- Corrections. If you find an error, tell us and we will fix it and update the page.
- Tools run in your browser. Calculator inputs are never uploaded.
Not financial advice
Everything on MarketWrench is for educational and informational purposes only. It is not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy or sell any security. Options involve risk and are not suitable for everyone. Do your own research and consider talking to a licensed professional before trading.
